There are any number of midtown Manhattan destinations where you’re likely to spot the city’s literati having lunch, but on April 18 the New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building was home to the hottest tables in town. That’s because it was hosting the annual Library Lunch—chaired this year by Abigail Baratta, Mahnaz Ispahani Bartos, Louise Grunwald, Zibby Owens, Daisy Prince, David Remnick, Deborah Goodrich Royce and Nanar Yoseloff, and honorary co-chair Colum McCann—which raises funds for the library’s collections and programming. This year, guests including Caroline Kennedy and Angela Flournoy were treated to a conversation among a group of novelists including Jennifer Egan, Min Jin Lee, and Colm Tóibín and moderated by David Remnick.
