Paula Faris Joins GMA Weekend; Bianna Golodryga Leaving ABC News for Yahoo!

ABC News President James Goldston sent the following note to the news division this morning announcing that Paula Faris will join the GMA Weekend anchor team and Bianna Golodryga is leaving ABC News for Yahoo!

Team:

I am pleased to announce Paula Faris will join our GMA anchor team on the weekends, starting Saturday, August 8th.

Paula is a terrific broadcaster, and she'll continue to report for all our programs and platforms.

This month she delivered unforgettable and colorful accounts from the World Cup, and her popular Real Money reports have shown American families how to save thousands of dollars.

Our audience on the weekends is growing steadily, and GMA is now the most-watched morning newscast on Saturdays and regularly beats Today on Sunday mornings.

I'm delighted Paula is joining our immensely talented team of Dan Harris, Ron Claiborne, Sara Haines and, soon, Rob Marciano.

After 7 years with ABC News, Bianna Golodryga is departing for an amazing new opportunity at Yahoo! as news and finance anchor. Because of our great partnership with Yahoo!, she will continue to appear on our air and will contribute frequent reports to the Yahoo-ABC News Network, the dominant #1 source for news and information online. Bianna has reported extensively on the autoindustry, the housing and credit crises, and financial markets. She has interviewed newsmakers from President Clinton and Warren Buffett to the father of the Boston Marathon bomber. We will celebrate Bianna and her many accomplishments at ABC News on Sunday, August 3rd on GMA.

Please join me in congratulating Paula and wishing Bianna good luck in her new role at Yahoo.

James
