Emily in Paris throws fashion trends
While we have been with adapting to new routine life in the lockdown, sipping organic concoctions in the comfort of our homes, ‘Emily in Paris – Season 2’ has been the real treat of entertainment. Released recently, this series is being perceived as a pandemic-favourite binge-watch choice. Day dreaming about the beautiful French Riviera, being decked up like a pretty Parisienne at various exotic French locations with a romantic view, is all one can desire.
This petite girl seems to be living it all king size, ensuring that the world misses the fascinating French country side, beaches of Riviera and the city of Paris. Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) and her friends have the perfect trip at Villefranche-sur-Mer - a beach town near Nice – the capital of French Riviera. They give us very tempting ideas on making love with Beachwear Fashion the French Way. Camille Razat, a French actress playing the character of Camille has managed to throw bold and sensual statements our way, choosing to go topless at the Moroccan spa slumber. Her elegance in black and beige and the minimalist deep clean-cut attires perfectly define her persona which is ‘Bold and Beautiful’. Philippine Leroy Beaulieu also the famous character Sylvie, is the ultimate inspiration of ‘Age with Grace’, in French executive wear and her vivacious yet stunning choice of style, exhibits her cold Parisienne chicness. Ashley Park being Mindy Chen, Emily’s best friend and flatmate adding glitziest punk to her choice of clothing. All the female leads in this fashion-based Netflix series give their unique style statements, inspiring women to be strong and spread their unique sparkle. Main lead Lily Collins manages to raise many eyebrows with her choice of glamourized ensembles with cutting-edge fashion boundaries.

Stunning colourful coats, a big pink bow, the peplum top, all shades green. Walking through the streets of Paris, wearing an incredible aqua green and electric blue coat, makes Emily stand out amongst normal Parisians and tourists on any normal day. Now thats the Emily Cooper we have loved on screen. She effortlessly layers the green Ellie Saab coat with a mugler skirt and striped Versace sweater along with strappy multicoloured heels. A Mary Katrantzou dress with oversized Vassilis Zoulias coat, translucent yellow trench coat with Moschino seems the perfect fit for her. Even putting Emily across a typical fashionable corseted peplum top made by Greek designer Vassilis Zoulias, along with gladiators of Valentino Garavani and Mansur Gavriel’s neon yellow purse is sight to watch. As the hostess of her birthday dinner, she pulls out Danish designer, Rotate Birger Christensen’s Natalie dress, which has a spectacularly oversized pink bow covering her front and a gorgeous green shoulder cover of Rianna + Nina designed kimono.

The return of the beret and bucket hat in Parisian style
If you are a fashionista living in Paris, you can’t possibly live without a beret. We loved her mustard yellow beret hat with short sleeve tartan rain coat. Was it practical ? Maybe not but it does take the attention away from the hot Brown British mystery man she’s dating. Dior has been known for classic fashion and its facelift from time to time. Few years ago Dior started giving facelifts to a line of bucket hats, and women around the world joined the glamour to bring this trend back. We saw Lisa Rinna wearing Prada bucket hat, in the season 11 of “
The real housewives of Beverly Hills” and now its officially certified again. In season 2, Emily is wearing the chessboard bucket hat by an individual designer. Putting a price tag of nearly $500 has created its buzz to make a copy and wear it. If you are a fan of Emily then this look has to top your wish list.

GNO Purple and Red Heart-Pattern Dress
Her purple ensemble for the girl’s night out, was shooting some glamour goals, with the perfect bling crystallised metallic Prada pink handbag. Throwing the word ‘balance’ of the charts, the look was all about being bright and loud, adding more bling to it. It screamed, ‘Why not go all out, it’s a girl’s night out’. At the Baton Rouge-themed party for Chopard in episode 5, Emily steals the show in her mid- length heart printed dress by Anouki- a Georgia based designer. With white bouffant hair covered in white satin hair band, she brought back the 60’s hair trend.

A Ruffle Affair
Her high-low lavender ruffled dress is designed by Magali Pascal as part of the brand’s ss21 collection. We witness a fancy sun-drenched south of France dress and also Emily’s jaw dropping over the top dramatic dress, by end of the season-2. The bright red Giambattista Valli x H&M 2019 collaboration with a high-low gown is worn by her for the Gregory Elliot Dupree’s fashion show. From the magnificent deep V-neckline to the long flowing train dress with beautiful hair embellishments to the heart necklace, it all combines in to a modern take on Marie Antoinette glamour as per Field described in the recent interview with Vanity Fair.

The Dior Vespa
A glamour packed showcase of Piaggio Vespa X Christian Dior scooter Ringing in at $10,000 according to Input magazine, ended up with 22-year-old riding around streets of Paris. This Dior and Vespa partnered scooter cost double than what the normal Vespa costs. Since the helmet was adorned with the signature Dior oblique canvas, it’s been trending online for girls wishing to ride, Emily style. Being the biggest highlight of the show, this campaign surely was one of the most fashionable rides one can witness in the web- series.
The first season certainly created a buzz amongst fashionistas in Europe questioning Emily’s fashion choices. The vibrancy of her wardrobe is wonder of its own, especially in Paris. Working in a Fashion Agency, one would be expecting colours and cuts in her attire, to be towards the classic French fashion. It’s no longer a surprise, how Emily pulls off vibrancy & striking prints or patterns of the outfits mixing young and classic designers. Once again, she throws some young and dopamine dressing goals, in this dramatic season.
