Natalya has said that the success of women in NXT has given hope to women on the main WWE roster.

The ring general brushed off our attempts to give her credit for the Divas Revolution and instead praised the whole team, highlighting the developmental brand in particular.

"Especially in the WWE it's a collaborative effort," Natalya told Digital Spy.

"We have to go in the ring and compete with someone else. We can't wrestle by ourself.

"It's just a natural evolution of WWE in the sense that for a long time the focus wasn't necessarily on women's wrestling.

"When I started in WWE, wrestling was always my love, my first love. I never was a model, I never was a dancer, I was always a wrestler.

"I always felt like, damn, being a wrestler sometimes has hindered me, because the focus isn't on wrestling - but now that the focus is on wrestling it just means I get to collaborate with wrestlers."

Natalya added: "I think that Triple H has encouraged that more at NXT and I think Vince McMahon has taken notice and said, 'Wow, I think that's working'.

"Triple H is giving the girls not just longer matches, but he's giving them stories to have these matches with.

"You can't have a great match without a story behind it, otherwise it's an exhibition of moves. To have the story you have to get people emotionally invested.

"You look at Bayley and Sasha at TakeOver: Brooklyn and the Iron Man Match [at TakeOver: Respect].

"I've told both girls that both those matches were so good because it got you emotionally. It wasn't just about Bayley or Sasha doing cool moves.

"They made you care, they made you feel something. When people make you feel something, you don't forget it.

"That's why I have to say that NXT has really helped give the girls some hope. Now we're being allowed to do the same thing on the main roster.

"A lot of us - from myself, to the Bella Twins, to Alicia Fox, Paige, Naomi, Tamina - we all want to have the same opportunities that the NXT girls have. The fact that Triple H has spearheaded it is cool."

Triple H said on a recent conference call that "little bits" of the way NXT does things are "boiling up" - with the treatment of female wrestlers being a significant example.

"The way that we handle the women sometimes [on NXT], I think there's sometimes it disconnects in the way that they're handled [on the main WWE roster]," he said.

"The stuff with the women... the ability to slow down in the way we tell our stories and to be able to promote things better - that's just difficult to do when you have three hours [on Raw].

"It's really easy to promote something coming up in two weeks and not have to give it away.

"If I had six hours to write in between there - it's tough to put that aside and say, 'I'm not going to do it, I'm just going to promote it for a little bit'."

Meanwhile, Natalya told DS that she would welcome a second reign as WWE Divas Champion.

"I would love to explore being the Divas Champion again, but obviously as people know it's entertainment, so it's not really within my hands," she said.

"But I believe in working hard. I believe in treating people with respect. I believe in consistency.

"I've gotten to do things in the company that have been unbelievable. I've gotten to travel to Rwanda to work with the United Nations."

She continued: "I got to be a part of Total Divas. Triple H allowed me to have that match I had with Charlotte at NXT, which was just an extraordinary match for me to be a part of.

"Being with my family at WrestleMania - the WWE has allowed me to do extraordinary things. If I was to be the Divas Champion one day again I think it would be awesome.

"Obviously Charlotte and I have a history - we go way back, so you never know what could happen. I do respect her, but yeah, I could definitely see myself one day feuding with her."

Before she was called up to the main roster, Charlotte told DS that she would love to have a decisive third match with Natalya as a pay-per-view main event.

Since then, Bayley and Sasha Banks have headlined NXT TakeOver: Brookyln and WWE COO Triple H has repeatedly claimed that women could well headline a main roster pay-per-view - even WrestleMania.

"Gosh, that would be awesome," Natalya said of the idea that she and Charlotte could top the bill at a PPV.

"Especially with the direction the Divas are going in, and how much they've been investing in the Divas lately with the whole Divas Revolution and all, I could totally see myself and Charlotte having a main event match.

"WWE is really starting to take notice of the women - much as a trend that the rest of society is taking notice of what Ronda Rousey has done."

She added: "Ronda is a great role model for the Divas in the sense that what was once impossible is possible.

"Nobody saw a woman in UFC... [let alone] headline in UFC... people really want to see more women.

"You could see myself and Charlotte, or Sasha and the Bella Twins, or Paige and Becky Lynch.

"You could see any of us Divas in the WWE doing amazing things, such as main eventing a huge pay per view, yes."
