Winnington Park Ladies 2-1 Alderley Edge Ladies 3rd
WINNINGTON Park protected an advantage established by Jaz Barlow’s double to put behind them back-to-back defeats.
They took the lead early after Jacs Gape used her speed and dribbling ability to weave a way past four defenders and the goalkeeper before teeing up Barlow.
And the hosts led 2-0 when Barlow’s flicked attempt was deflected by an opponent into her own goal.
The visitors halved their arrears, but they could not find a way through a resolute back-line again thanks to Park’s goalkeeper Helen Hogben.
Chester Ladies 4th 0-5 Winnington Park Ladies 2nd
A DOMINANT display at Chester kept Winnington Park’s seconds in contention to be promoted from Cheshire Women’s League Division Four.
Liv Moynihan and Katie Beesley supplied the ammunition from wide positions for their teammates.
The former scored twice too, while Leona Wyllie, Nat Ofoche and Ellie Capstick were also on target.
Vicky Curran’s tireless running throughout earned for her the player of the match award.
