Clyde 1’s George Bowie named Top Scottish DJ – bumping Calvin Harris off top spot
Hitmaker Calvin may be the biggest DJ in the world after racking up more chart toppers than anyone this decade, but it's Bowie who is the fan favourite
GEORGE Bowie has knocked superstar DJ Calvin Harris off his perch as Scotland’s number one.
Hitmaker Calvin may be the biggest DJ in the world after racking up more chart toppers than anyone this decade.
But it’s the veteran Clyde 1 breakfast host who topped a recent poll of the Scottish Top 50 DJs.
And it’s no surprise with the numbers he’s still pulling in after almost 30 years on the airwaves.
The legendary Radio star, 50, said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me, the poll is great fun and I am very proud to have pipped Calvin Harris, one of Scotland’s greatest exports, to the post!”
“Maybe if he plays ‘Bits n Pieces’ more often he might regain the number 1 spot for 2019.”
It comes after Calvin famously played the Artmesia dance classic during his headline set at T in the Park in 2016.
