Westwood man killed in train strike is identified

The man fatally struck by an NJ Transit train early Sunday morning has been identified, NJ Transit officials said.

George Koury, 87, of Westwood was hit around 1:40 a.m. at Broadway and Irvington Street, said Nathan Rudy, a spokesman for NJ Transit. Koury was hit by the last train of the night on the Pascack Valley Line, carrying 13 people. 

Service was suspended for over four hours, resuming around 6 a.m.
