La Porte Youth Football Coach Charged With Child Indecency
Craig Michael Gibbs, 41, is accused of molesting a female relative for more than a year. He is free on $20,000 bond.
LA PORTE, TX — A former La Porte youth football coach who was arrested Oct. 5 on a charge of indecency of a child with sexual contact is free on bond. Craig Michael Gibbs, 41, who coached with the La Porte Cowboys and Cowgirls youth football organization, is accused of touching a female relative who was under the age of 16-years-old.
Prosecutors said the child reached out to a pastor in June 2016 and told him that Gibbs had been molesting her for about a year, and that things had become steadily worse.
A month after the outcry, the child was interviewed at a child advocacy center and told investigators that Gibbs had touched her breasts and forced her to strip down to her underwear in front of him.

Other relatives told investigators they’d seen Gibbs touch the girl’s breasts numerous times, according to a Houston Chronicle report.
During an interview with police, Gibbs allegedly admitted to having her strip into her underway and do super hero poses to boost her confidence.

Officials said the charge is not related to his position with the La Porte Cowboys and Cowgirls youth football organization.
Gibbs is free on $20,000 bond.
