The Nightfall Music series breaks out on
Friday, May 4, through Aug 30 weekly as part of Chattanooga's Live Music scene. It's a free concert series rain or shine with a selection of regional and national music acts as headliners. Also, each
Friday night the headliner will have an opening band leading the evening. The 2018 lineup schedule has been announced
Last weekend, Gig City Productions completed the presentation of 30 bands during a five-night event over a couple of weekends. Stratton Tingle, director of SoundCorps, was the master of ceremony for the Road To Nightfall sessions and finale. On Saturday Chattanooga's new music venue
The Signal hosted the finals of five local bands.
The following bands performed in 30-minute sets The Foothills - band, Lenox Hills, Caney Creek Company, SunSap & Hive Theory.
The winners were selected by a panel of judges who are involved in various aspects of the Chattanooga music scene. The sponsor of this event also awarded selected prizes. The key prize given by Chattanooga Presents is a headliner's spot to perform on June 22 in the Nightfall series.
Hive Theory drew last straw in the order to perform in the finals, but left the night as first place winner of the Road To Nightfall. Let's give credit to Courtney Holder, singer/songwriter performing solo and as a duo act at many venues for several years. The past two years she performed as she was completing Cosmetology school and passing the state exam. Courtney never lost her focus to take her music to the next level. There were many hours of practice, working with various musicians, checking skill levels, bandmate chemistry, learning her new original materials and selecting favorite cover songs. As the bandmates started to come together, so was the labor for the band name recognition hence .... Hive Theory was birthed. Courtney has a band with seasoned and talented musicians. The photos attempt to capture the energy and passion.
