The San Diego Botanic Garden and Oceanside Museum of Art Artist Alliance present the “Wild and Beautiful” sculpture exhibition through Aug. 1 at the garden, 300 Quail Gardens Drive. Inspired by nature, the original sculptures in the collection were created by members of the OMA Artist Alliance. Admission typically ranges from $5-$18; free for garden members. Golf fundraiser benefits Shelter to Soldier
Shelter to Soldier, an Oceanside-based nonprofit that trains psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans, will hold a fundraising golf tournament with scramble format at noon Friday at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan, 3007 Dehesa Road in El Cajon. Volunteers are sought for a study by researchers Sharon Hamill and her graduate student, Sean Griser, from the Psychology Department at California State University San Marcos. The online survey study is designed to explore how family caregivers (18 and older) of individuals with dementia are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and what community supports are most important for caregivers’ well being.
