The Trucking Association of New York will host a Touch-a-Truck event for families this weekend to benefit the Kelly for Kids Foundation.

The fundraiser will give children, parents and other attendees up-close access to a variety of trucks and emergency vehicles while raising funds to provide critical financial assistance to disadvantaged and disabled youth in the Buffalo and Rochester areas.

Kelly for Kids was founded by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly as a way to serve disadvantaged and disabled youth in Western New York through the distribution of grant money raised throughout the year. Since its inception, Kelly for Kids has distributed more than $5 million to organizations such as Cradle Beach Camp, Kids Escaping Drugs, Ilio DiPaolo Scholarship Fund and Kelly’s son’s foundation, Hunter’s Hope.

The Touch-a-Truck event will be held Aug. 19 at Veterans Memorial Park in Henrietta. The event is free and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A variety of commercial tractor trailers and their drivers, as well as emergency vehicles and antique trucks will be on hand for kids to interact with.
