Kentucky man charged with murder in Lockport death investigation

A Smithfield man has been charged with murder in connection to a death investigation by Kentucky State Police.
20-year-old Gregory Heightchew was served a warrant on Friday at about 2:15p.m. at the Oldham County Detention Center where he was being held for other charges, including attempted murder.
Troopers say Heightchew’s murder charge comes from an investigation into a body found burned in a vehicle in Lockport, Kentucky. Police say the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Elijah Creekmore of Henry County.
The investigation is ongoing.
