Burglarized Sunnyvale Resident Texting Police While Under Covers

SUNNYVALE, CA --Unusual as this sounds, a Sunnyvale woman was hiding under the covers of her bed while her house was being burglarized.

The strange incident Tuesday led to the arrests of four San Jose residents. No one was hurt.

She was communicating with dispatchers while the suspects stole her personal property and her 2016 Tesla Model 6. When Sunnyvale officers arrived, the suspects had already fled, but they later recovered the vehicle in North San Jose with the help of a burglary surveillance program. Later, a silver Audi dropped off Allison Martin, 23, and Raeanna Sagote, 21 -- both of San Jose -- near the Tesla. When they tried to get in, officers took them into custody, and the driver of the Audi pulled away. The driver was identified as Marco Rodriquez, 23, of San Jose.

The Sunnyvale Burglary Suppression Team ran surveillance on Rodriquez's home, which led to the arrest of Alejandro Garcia, 23, of San Jose. Both suspects were on parole for burglary.

The victim's property was recovered. All four suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on a range of charges including burglary, felony evading, vehicle theft and parole and probation violations.

Detectives are still looking into whether other burglaries are tied to the suspects.
