Four people including a child died and three people suffered life-threatening injuries in a fiery crash involving a total of four vehicles Friday night on Jacksonville's Westside.

The Florida Highway Patrol said three of the fatalities were passengers in a Toyota Corolla driven by Evelyn Denise Tyson, 30, of Jacksonville. Tyson was taken in critical condition to UF Health Jacksonville, according to the Highway Patrol.

The Corolla fatalities were Thaddeus Thomas Sutton, 42, Christina Marie Davis, 35, and Antonio Hardwick Jr., 12, all of Jacksonville. A 9-year-old passenger, Gloria Bunks of Jacksonville, also was taken in critical condition to UF Health Jacksonville, according to the Highway Patrol

The Highway Patrol said the driver of a Jeep Patriot, whose name hasn't been released, was killed in the head-on collision with the Corolla.

The Corolla and the Patriot collided about 9:30 p.m. on West Beaver Street at Otis Road, and the Patriot caught fire. Four people were trapped in the wreckage, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, which extricated the victims.

The Highway Patrol said almost immediately a secondary crash occurred involving a Chevrolet pickup truck and a GMC pickup truck.

The Chevrolet driver, Herbert Williams, 50, of Jacksonville, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Ed Fraser Hospital in Macclenny. Cheyenne Wester, 18, also of Jacksonville, who was driving the GMC pickup, wasn't injured, according to the Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet pickup hit the side of the Corolla as it sat across the roadway. The Corolla then slid into the side of the GMC pickup.

Investigation continues into the crash.
