Treasurer Goldberg Teams With Financial Planners Assoc. to Host Financial Literacy Workshop

Monday, April 22, 2019

Treasurer Deborah Goldberg

Treasurer Deborah Goldberg is teaming with the Financial Planners Association of Massachusetts to host a financial literacy workshop series in Halifax.

“I am delighted to partner with Financial Planners Association of Massachusetts on this opportunity for our seniors. Educating older citizens about potential fraud and scams not only keeps this vulnerable population safe but empowers them to make wise fiscal decisions,” said Goldberg.

The workshop will be offered on Wednesday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the Halifax Council on Aging located at 506 Plymouth Street.

The Workshop

The program is geared towards educating older citizens about managing their finances and preventing financial exploitation.

These sessions will cover topics such as fraud and scam prevention. Since the workshops were first launched in 2017, the Office of Economic Empowerment has provided financial education training to over 300 participants in 13 communities.
