Annie Lee Robbins Dies At 86

Annie Lee Robbins (neé Dawson) of Westhampton died on Friday, May 4, at the Westhampton Care Center. She was 86.

Born in Waresboro, Georgia, to Johnnie B. Dawson and Elozie W. Warren on October 5, 1925, Mrs. Robbins graduated from Bethel High School in 1942. She earned her degree as a beauty culture cosmetologist from the Sunlight Beauty School in Miami, Florida, in 1946.

On August 21, 1949, she married Dennis Moore Robbins Sr. and they had four children.

Mrs. Robbins was known for her culinary skills and, along with her husband, provided catering services for numerous individuals in the area. She also served as police matron for the Village of Westhampton Beach for a number of years. Mrs. Robbins was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion Arthur Ellis Hamm Post 834 in Eastport and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Westhampton.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra F. Lewis and her husband Milton, and Joyce Denise Kinney and her husband Chris; a son, Dr. Dennis M. Robbins and his wife Mary; two granddaughters, Michelle R. Lawrence, and Lisa A. Wesley and her husband Greg; two great-grandchildren, Cole M. Wesley and Ella Simone Wesley; and many other relatives and friends.

Ms. Robbins was predeceased by her husband, Dennis, and their youngest daughter, Shirley Ann Robbins.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, at 6 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Westhampton, with the Reverend John Roy officiating. Interment will take place on Monday, May 21, at the Westhampton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Mrs. Robbins is requesting that contributions be made to the Westhampton Care Center, 78 Old Country Road, Westhampton, NY, 11977.
