Journey concert in El Paso postponed by few days
Classic-rock band Journey’s concert at the Don Haskins Center in July has been rescheduled “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict,” according to officials with the University of Texas at El Paso’s Office of Special Events.
Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait very long for the group’s rescheduled performance. Journey’s concert has been rescheduled for July 19 at the same venue.
Tickets for the originally scheduled July 15 date will be honored at the July 19 show. The concert is nearly sold out; however, tickets are still available at UTEP Ticket Center, Ticketmaster outlets, 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com
Journey is one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, amassing 19 Top 40 singles, including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Faithfully,” “Wheel in the Sky,” “Separate Ways” and “Lights.”

The San Francisco band was formed in 1973. The group’s classic line-up included lead guitarist Neal Schon, keyboard player Jonathan Cain, bass guitarist Ross Valory, drummer Steve Smith and vocalist Steve Perry.
Schon and Valory still remain in Journey’s current lineup, along with longtime member Jonathan Cain, keyboards, Steve Smith, drums and lead vocalist Arnel Pineda. Pineda, who’s soaring vocals is known to rival that of Perry’s, joined Journey as its lead singer in 2007. Since then, the band has released two albums and performed worldwide for more than 5 million fans.
