Once a year, the C&O Historical Society sponsors the George Washington Train Show in Clifton Forge to help support the C&O Railway Heritage Center there. It’s a big show with a lot of little trains, and this is the weekend.

“I’m looking at Lionel stuff today,” said Roy Evans.

Or maybe accessories? Even the real thing, like a signal lamp or some dining car china.

“It’s not just trains. It’s the history and you put it all together and tie it together. It’s kind of nostalgic and takes you back to that time frame,” said Brandy Dudley, C&O Historical Society.

“We actually have three generations here right now, with my boys, myself, and my father who’s here as well,” said Brandon Evans.

“It’s fantastic to have all three generations together at one time. We get together about two times a week, but I’m retired now, so we get to go more places and see more things like this,” Roy Evans said.

“The boys enjoy it, and the fact that this has so many hands-on model railroads and trains for the guys to play with is just fantastic,” Brandon Evans said.

“Kids are in awe with the trains. It’s just something about them. It’s just magical,” said Dudley.

But it’s not just for kids. This show brings in people from everywhere.

“We get people from West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Maryland, that kind of thing. So it’s amazing. Draws people from all over,” said Dudley.

All to support a museum and a hobby. And to have fun. The show continues today. They’re at the armory in Clifton Forge, from 12 to 4.
