Matt Delaney scored the 1,000th point of his career as a part of career-high 32-point performance to power St. Augustine, No. 14 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 67-52 victory over Bridgeton in Richland.

Delaney, a 6-foot-7 forward going to American University, set the milestone early in the fourth quarter when he got the ball in the paint, then made a spin move before banking in the left-handed shot. The basket came late in a torrid stretch which saw Delaney score 22 points in a 27-12 St. Augustine (10-1) run.

Down by as many as eight in the first half, St. Augustine opened the third quarter with a Keith Palek 3-pointer, followed by a Delaney basket to put his team in front for good at 39-38.

Palek finished with 10 points, Xavier Ernest scored eight and John Horner added seven in the win.

Bridgeton falls to 3-7 on the season.
