Latest on-air roster move for new CBS Sports Radio

USATODAY

As CBS and NBC try to beef up their general-interest TV sports channels, potentially posing a long-term threat to ESPN, they're also making forays into sports radio.

Fledgling CBS Sports Radio network adds Scott Ferrall, coming from Sirius XM, to its on-air roster.

CBS sports radio, which will launch full-time on Jan. 2, has named another voice to its on-air radio lineup that already includes ex-ESPN talkers Jim Rome and Doug Gottlieb: Scott Ferrall, who'll have a weekday show from 10 a.m. ET to 2 p.m. ET and is coming from seven years at SiriusXM.

CBS' new radio venture will include at least eight radio CBS stations, in such markets as Houston and Detroit, that will convert to an all-sports format. NBC's sports radio venture will take a more gradual approach and rely on syndicating various programs to stations.
