Alex Stone of Crosslake finished second in Monday's Trusted Choice Big I junior qualifier at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska.

The Pequot Lakes Junior shot an 80 to finish two shots out of first place, which was claimed by Emma Groom.

Brainerd's Emily Aga shot a 96, but just the top three girls qualified for the national tournament Aug. 3-6 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.

Heggerston, Israelson represent

Maggie Heggerston of Pequot Lakes and Andrew Israelson represented Minnesota in the Minnesota-Wisconsin PGA Junior Cup matches Sunday and Monday at StoneRidge Golf Club in Stillwater.

Heggerston teamed with Kate Smith of Detroit Lakes to top Caroline Lake-Anika Hitt 4&3 in the Sunday fourball.

Israelson and Ben Mallow lost 1 up to Nate Thompson-Adam Miller.

During Monday's singles matches both former Class 2A state champions lost 1-up.

Wisconsin retained the cup with a 23-13 win over Minnesota.

Israelson qualifies

Zach Israelson shot a 2-over 74 June 24 at Wapicada Golf Club to qualify for the MGA Amateur Championship.

Israelson tied for third and was three shots off the lead.

Stone, Israelson compete in four-ball

Sarah Israelson and Augustana teammate Sierra Langlie tied for fourth in the Minnesota Women's State four-ball championship June 24-25 at Alexandria Golf Club.

The duo were 12 shots back of tournament champions Sarah Burnham and McKenzie Neisen.

Finishing ninth were Concordia College teammates Savannah Stone of Crosslake and Brittany Neff.

Minnesota Hall of Fame

COON RAPIDS - The Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame has announced the 2015 Class of Hall of Fame inductees: Gloria Bjork Brandness, Dan Croonquist, Alissa (Herron) Super and Dick Haugen. Members of the group will be inducted into the Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame at various allied golf association events throughout the year.

Aimpoint putting clinic scheduled

Chris Foley Golf Schools will be hosting Aimpoint Putting Clinic July 11th at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

A Level 1 course will be from 2 to 3 p.m. and the cost is $135. A Level 2 class will begin at 3:30 p.m. Participants must take Level 1 first. There is an additional $65 fee.

Both clinics will be conducted by Aimpoint certified instructor Andy Thompson and Chris Foley.

Lions scholarship scramble set

The Lions scholarship scramble is scheduled for 1 p.m. July 13 at Cuyuna Rolling Hills in Deerwood.

Registration is limited to the first 100 paid players and the entry fee is $80 per player and includes a burger basket before the event, 18 holes of golf with cart and a prime rib dinner at the Deerstand in Deerwood after the event.

Non-golfing guests are also welcome and can attend banquet for $30.

Golf against MS

The second Babe Winkelman's Golf Against MS is scheduled for 8 a.m. July 11 at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

The entry fee of $125 per player or $500 per team includes golf, cart, lunch, entry into hole events, door prizes and a sleeve of golf balls.

On course events include an archery shoot, casting game, mulligans and more.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Upper Midwest Chapter of the MS Society.

Pink Ribbon tourney slated for Sept. 3

Madden's Resort will host a Pink ribbon Cupboard women's golf fundraiser Sept. 3 at Pine Beach East Golf Course.

The 9-hole, four-person scramble will start with a 2:30 p.m. check in followed by a 4 p.m. shotgun start.

The cost is $65 per person and includes golf, cart and buffet.

Todd Salo, Gladstone, MI, aced the 189-yard 12th hole of The Classic at Madden's June 26 using a 4-hybrid.

Kelly Klick, Winnipeg, Manitoba, aced the 11th hole of Bobby's Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses June 28 using a 7-iron.

Addison Brown, Scottsdale, Az., aced the 175-yard 12th hole of The Classic at Madden's June 29 using a 22-degree hybrid. Brown is the granddaughter of Bob and Betty Lee of Staples.

Curt Baier Jr., Nisswa, aced the 105-yard eighth hole of the Dutch Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses June 24 using a 56-degree wedge.
