Hyder Consulting Plc. (HYC.L), the multi-national design and engineering consultancy, said that Jeffrey Hume will succeed Sir Alan Thomas as chairman with effect from the end of its AGM on 1 August 2014.
Hume has been a non-executive director of Hyder Consulting since 2007. He is also deputy chairman of the Dover Harbour Board, senior independent director of Manx Telecom plc, a non-executive director of the housing association Moat and a member of the London Stock Exchange's Primary Markets Group. He had an executive career mainly in the engineering, construction, utilities and transport sectors including directorships of TDG plc, AWG plc, Alfred McAlpine plc and Howden Group plc, following senior finance and commercial appointments with Hawker Siddeley Group plc. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Sir Alan and Mr Hume will work closely on the handover over the coming months.
From 1 August 2014 Mr Hume will take over as chairman of the nomination committee. Sir Alan, who has been chairman since leading Hyder's listing in 2002, will retire from the board and the nomination committee on that date. No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph LR 9.6.14 R of the Listing Rules.
