LAWRENCE  COUNTY, Ala. – The Lawrence County Drug Task Force made multiple arrests after a citizen complained about possible drug activity involving juveniles at a residence in Dancy Chapel community of Trinity.

Sheriff Gene Mitchell says that during the investigation, DTF agents learned that juveniles were allegedly being allowed to come to Michael Clem’s residence to consume marijuana and alcoholic beverages and were being allowed to shoot firearms.

When DTF agents and an investigator with the DA’s Office arrived at the residence they first made contact with Khai Reed and  detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the home.  Agents then secured the residence in order to obtain a search warrant.

While securing the residence, agents located Kaitlyn Saint and Wesley Waits and observed drug paraphernalia in the residence.

Sheriff Mitchell says that while agents searched the residence,  a vehicle pulled up occupied by Thomas Parker and Summer Goode where they observed a handgun in plain-view of the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Agents learned that neither occupant of the vehicle had a permit to transport a loaded firearm.

Sheriff Mitchell says that when agents searched the vehicle they discovered several items used to package narcotics for resale, along with a large quantity of Marijuana.

Agents discovered two other firearms in the vehicle and during a stolen weapons check they learned that one of the firearms had been reported stolen during a burglary in Trinity.

Sheriff Mitchell says that when Michael Clem arrived at the residence, he was advised about the ongoing drug investigation and he admitted to consuming marijuana and told the agents that there were narcotics in the residence.

While interviewing Clem, agents discovered text messages on Clem’s phone that were sent to a juvenile requesting to purchase narcotics and also texts that were of a sexual nature.

Sheriff Mitchell says after the discovery of the text messages, the Special Victim’s Unit was contacted for assistance with the ongoing investigation.

DTF agents made six arrests in their investigation and all six people are being held in the Lawrence County Jail.

Sheriff Mitchell says that Michael Clem is being held without bond pending the outcome of the SVU investigation and may be facing additional charges.
