These celebrities vowed to be with their spouses 'till death do us part,' but they eventually ended their marriages in less than a year.

AceShowbiz - Many celebrity couples choose to live together without ever getting married because they are afraid that marriage will ruin their romance. However, there are a lot who think that they will be able to conquer all sorts of hardships together and decide to tie the knot. Some managed to keep their love for each other alive for the rest of their lives, some are still doing their best to save their families, and some called it quits shortly after they exchanged vows. These are the celebrity couples who couldn't make their marriage last even a year.

Drew Barrymore and Tom Green (9 Months)

Drew Barrymore and Tom Green started dating in March 2000 before eloping to the South Pacific in March 2001 to get married. The two later held another wedding ceremony and exchanged vows in front of friends and family.

However, their marriage only lasted nine months. The former MTV host filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split. "Drew is a wonderful woman. I love her very much. I wish our marriage could have worked out. I wish her much happiness," he said in a statement. Drew, meanwhile, stated that Tom would always be her friend in her statement. "Yes, it is true we have decided to part. I love Tom very much. He has always been a great friend and that won't change," she said.

The stand-up comedian opened up about their short marriage on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" in 2014. "It was just a very short period of time that I had a brief marriage," Tom shared. "I don't really tend to talk about it that much comfortably [or] publicly. All of that was part of that sort of crazy, whirlwind of a time."

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito (4 Months)

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito got engaged in October 2006 before tying the knot that December. They had only been married for four months when the "Mistresses" alum filed for divorce in May 2007.

When asked about his first marriage, Bradley explained that he and Jennifer knew that things wouldn't work between them. "[The divorce] was just something that happened," he said during an appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show. "The good thing is, we both realized it... Sometimes you just realize it." The "American Hustle" star concluded, "It just wasn't right. It's interesting... things happen!"

Although their marriage ended before things got worse, Jennifer seemed to regret it a lot as she appeared to slam Bradley in her memoir "Jennifer's Way". "I should have noticed the red flags from the beginning - actually, they were more like an entire marching band squad of red flags - but I ignored them because, honestly, I didn't think the relationship was really going to go anywhere," she wrote. "He was funny, smart, cocky, arrogant and a master manipulator. I didn't necessarily find him that attractive, but I figured that I could enjoy his sense of humor and nonsense for a while."

Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley (3 Months)

Nicolas Cage, who is a fan of Elvis Presley, started dating Lisa Marie Presley in 2000. They got married in August 2002 after two years of an on-and-off relationship. Three months later, Nicolas filed for divorce from Lisa.

The "National Treasure" star said in a statement, "I did not talk about the marriage and I am not going to talk about the divorce," before adding, "But I loved her." Lisa, meanwhile, expressed her regret in her statement. "I'm sad about this, but we shouldn't have been married in the first place."

They never talked about the reason behind their divorce, but Nicolas and Lisa allegedly ended their marriage because of the singer's former husband Michael Jackson. According to Daily Mail, they fought because Nicolas felt that the "Lights Out" songstress was so protective of Michael. They reportedly couldn't stop fighting after the "Knowing" actor asked if she still loved the King of Pop. "It went on from there, a disagreement about Lisa not wanting Nicolas to delve into the reasons for her friendship with Michael," Monica Pastelle, Lisa's friend, revealed.

She went on saying, "Throughout his relationship with her, Nicolas was always asking Lisa questions and trying to figure her out. I think, though, that he learned what many people already know: you can't figure out Lisa Marie Presley."

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries (72 Days)

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries met in November 2010 and made their relationship public in February 2011. A few months later, Kris proposed to her with a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring. They later got married in a lavish wedding in August. 72 days later, Kim filed for divorce. In response to her divorce papers, Kris said in a statement, "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work." The divorce was finalized in 2013.

A few years after their failed marriage, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star revealed that she knew the marriage wouldn't work during their honeymoon. "At the time I just thought, 'Holy s**t, I'm 30 years old, I better get this together. I better get married.' I think a lot of girls do go through that, where they freak out thinking they're getting old and all their friends are having kids," she shared during an appearance on "What Happens Live with Andy Cohen". "So, it was more of that situation. But I knew on the honeymoon it wasn't going to work out."

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds (2 Weeks)

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds exchanged wedding vows in a private ceremony in Bora Bora before calling it quits two weeks later. "After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forgo having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further," Eddie and Tracey told PEOPLE in a joint statement. "While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends."

According to the publication, things didn't go well during their honeymoon. "He would go off to smoke with his buddies," a source revealed, while another source later said that people "could hear them yelling and her crying during the honeymoon evenings. It was pretty dramatic."

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander (55 Hours)

Although Britney Spears didn't marry a fellow celebrity, her 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander is still worth mentioning. The two exchanged wedding vows in an impromptu ceremony in Las Vegas in 2004.

The "Circus" hitmaker asked her childhood friend to join her in Las Vegas before flying him there in a private jet. They were watching "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in their hotel room, and suddenly felt that they should get married. Hours later, they tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel which often handles impromptu ceremonies. Britney's manager found out about their wedding shortly after and helped them sign annulment papers.

Jason recalled the impulsive wedding nearly ten years later. "She just came out and asked me," he told ABC News in 2012. "She was like, 'Well, let's get married.' And I was like, 'Sure. You know, let's do this.' " He also said that they were drinking and "had party favors." When asked if party favors meant drugs, he answered, "Alcohol is a drug. Coffee is a drug. Cigarette is a drug. Yeah, we were doing drugs."

However, Jason was sure that he was in love with Britney at that time. "I went with my feelings," he revealed. "I was in love with her. I feel like she felt the same way."
