Line of Duty aired another explosive episode on Sunday which got viewers coming up with more theories about the BBC programme.

However, one “mistake” on the show spotted by fans has led some to think there’s another conspiracy going on.

It unfolded as Ted Hasting (played by Adrian Dunbar) told DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) about how many police officers had been killed.

Thought they'd get away with that one, huh

Viewers have claimed that while Hastings was heard saying “five” his mouth appeared to say “four”.

Subsequently, they pointed it out on Twitter and jested that it could be a new conspiracy.

One shared: “Nice bit of ADR in #LineOfDuty last night, I noticed, with Ted obviously mouthing 'four' yet we hear him say 'five'. Thought they'd get away with that one, huh?? that's a nice way of them correcting what was probably a script error.”

“#lineofduty - the mistake I noticed, was Hastings clearly said that Corbett had killed four officers, but the word five was dubbed over…….” another mused.

A third stated: “#lineofduty hastings mouths “responsible for killing four police officers” but is dubbed saying “five…”that’s my bbc conspiracy for the day @vasman60.”

While a fourth questioned: “Did anyone else notice when Hastings said "Corbett is responsible for killing five police officers" his mouth said "four"?? #LineOfDuty #lineofduty5.”

The episode also left some people wondering if Lisa McQueen (Rochenda Sandall) is working for Hastings.

She ended up breaking down in tears after John Corbett’s (Stephen Graham) murder.

However, Lisa star Rochenda shot down fan theories in an interview on BBC Breakfast yesterday.

“I’m convinced you’re undercover,” host Dan Walker declared.

Rochenda laughed: “And I’ll never tell.”

“You’re in cahoots with Hastings!” Dan exclaimed to which Rochenda repeated: “I will never tell, you’ll have to watch.”

Louise Minchin also asked Rochenda if she looked on social media at the theories devised by fans.

“All the theories are wrong!” Rochenda chuckled. “Yeah, no it’s great. It’s amazing and it’s part and parcel of the show reading all the theories.

“I must’ve spent two hours reading after the big scene.”

Line of Duty continues Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
