After Red Marlow’s performance Monday night on NBC’s “The Voice” — he sang “That’s What I Love About Sunday” by fellow Dickson County resident Craig Morgan — Marlow is now in the final eight.

That number will be cut to four contestants next week heading into the show’s finale in two weeks.

The current lineup is listed below.

Team Blake (Shelton): Red Marlow, Keisha Renee, Chloe Kohanski

Team Adam (Levine): Addison Agen, Adam Cunningham

Team Miley (Cyrus): Brooke Simpson

Team Jennifer (Hudson): Davon Fleming, Noah Mac

In addition to their talent, the success of the contestants is also determined by online voting and purchases of the iTunes song of their performance.

Marlow’s wife, Debbie, said he chose “That’s What I Love About Sunday” for Monday night for several reasons. Marlow knows the song’s co-writer, Mark Narmore.

“One of the writers is a family friend and was a member at the church where Red’s dad pastored,” Debbie said.

Marlow also thinks highly of Morgan, and believes he’s a “Godly man that does a lot for his community,” Debbie said.

Marlow just also really likes the song.

“That song has such an important message and reflects how Red lives his life,” Debbie said.

“The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. on NBC.
