More Than 70 Animals Seized From Cypress Home

The Houston SPCA confiscated 32 horses and donkeys, 34 rabbits, as well as several rabbits, dogs and cats from a home on Grant Road.

CYPRESS, TX β€” More than 70 animals found to be in various stages of malnutrition, were seized from a home in Cypress Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Officials with the Houston SPCA and the Harris County Constables confiscated more than 30 horses and donkeys, 34 rabbits, as well as several rabbis, dogs, and cats from a home in the 15000 block of Grant Road.

Houston SPCA officials said they'd received several complaints on their hotline that the animals were all being abused or neglected.

Many of the animals suffered from malnutrition and dehydration, while the equine animals were also suffering from poor hoof care.

The horses and donkeys were tagged before being taken to the Houston SPCA's Hempstead location for care.

The Houston SPCA is asking for donations such as groom supplies, fly masks (no holes), detanglers, brushes, saddle blankets, and cotton lead ropes.

The rabbits, dogs and cats were transported to the SPCA location in Houston for care.

The owner faces animal neglect charges.
