GULF SHORES, Ala., (WKRG) – Two weeks into the New Year, and if you haven’t gotten a 2019 calendar yet, you may want to check this out.

Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue have teamed up with the newly formed Gulf Shores Animal Care and Control Program and created a calendar that features local firefighters and, wait for it, kittens.

All proceeds from the $15 calendar will help fund efforts by the volunteer group dedicated to dealing with the feral cat population in Gulf Shores by implementing a TNR (Trap Neuter Release) Program, the most effective and humane way to deal with “community cat” colonies. A similar program in Orange Beach has already proven effective.

For more info on the calendars and how to purchase, check out Gulf Shores Animal Care and Control Program on Facebook.
