Police Activity in Arbor Hills-Suspect Apprehended after multiple attempts throughout the day

We had an incident today in central Joplin that led to a motorcycle rider fleeing from us and then Newton County. The rider entered Arbor Hills and ran on foot from the motorcycle. We were unable to locate him due to the wooded terrain. The motorcycle was reported stolen to us previously.

A few hours later, a neighbor reported the male emerged from the woods and was walking away. As officers arrived, the suspect repeated the situation and ran back into the woods. A lengthy search of almost 2 hours led to not finding him.

This evening, one of our officers encountered the male exiting the woods south of Arbor Hills. The male again fled on foot. This time JPD K9 Fighter apprehended the male. He was transported to a local hospital to be cleared of his injuries and on to jail.

Most incidents aren’t this repetitive and time consuming, but we wanted everyone to know the male was in custody due to the persistence of everyone involved. Numerous charges will be submitted.
