CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 28-year-old man was arrested by Clinton Township police Sunday afternoon after a chase that ended in a neighborhood several miles away. A Clinton Township officer clocked the man speeding in a 2003 Cadillac near 19 Mile and Garfield roads just before 3 p.m., police said.

The officer tried to stop the driver, who reportedly kept driving northbound on Dalcoma. While pursuing the car, police said they saw the driver throw four packages from the driver’s door, which later tested positive for cocaine.

The pursuit went into Sterling Heights and into a residential area where the man reportedly became stuck in a muddy lawn. He attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by Clinton Township Police and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, police said.
