South Korea seeks high-level talks with the North this month

Agenda will center on denuclearization to prepare for an April summit

SOTARO SUZUKI, Nikkei staff writer | North Korea

SEOUL -- South Korea said Friday that it will propose holding high-level talks with North Korea within the month to lay the groundwork for their summit meeting slated for late April.

The summit -- preceding a separate, historic one expected by May between the U.S. and North Korea -- will put emphasis on denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
