Are the Buffalo Bills ranked too low in NFL power rankings? (mailbag)

Orchard Park, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills have one of those "statement games" in Week 6.

The Bills' home game against the Patriots is one that could make a statement about where they stand in the AFC East. It could make a statement that the Patriots aren't going to have an easy path to another division title. And it would make a statement to the rest of the league about how tough it is to play at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

So far in 2014, the Bills have been a tough team to figure out and a team in need of a statement win. There are still plenty of questions surrounding the roster. So let's jump into the mailbag questions for this week.

From @JMahone on Twitter: NFL.com has the Bills ranked 22. Is that insane?

Nobody knows where to rank the Buffalo Bills right now, and that's fair. In the first two weeks of the season, they looked like a borderline playoff team. In the second two weeks of the season, they look like an AFC bottom feeder. Buffalo bounced back last week and again looked capable of making the postseason. But yes, 22 seems like a low ranking for a team that has knocked off the Bears and the Lions on the road.

From @DalyBeastMode on Twitter: On a scale from Scott Norwood to Kyle Orton, how handsome is Doug Marrone?

I think this is the most elaborate question I've received in the mailbag, and now I can't stop picturing Doug Marrone with a mustache.

From @Jiillyy on Twitter: What is your opinion on Nigel Bradham and Kyle Williams playing this week?

It's still a bit early to call whether Bradham, Williams or any other injured BIlls will be able to play. The Bills have made it tough to predict who will play and who won't this season, and until the injury report is released, it's tough to get a clear picture of where players stand with regards to injuries.

From @McC_3T on Twitter: How long until someone replaces Erik Pears?

This may not happen anytime soon, mostly because the Bills don't have a capable replacement on the roster right now. Erik Pears has been a liability at right guard, but it's tough for the Bills to upgrade from within given what is currently on the roster.

From @lophus89 on Twitter: Any chance we see Chris Williams compete with Pears at the RG spot?

This is one of the Bills' only options for upgrading the right guard spot, but when asked directly about this, Marrone said for now Chris Williams and Cyril Richardson are both left guards and he doesn't envision either of them playing right guard at this point. Of course, things could change once Williams gets healthy, but that's where things stand right now.
