With warmer days ahead, car repair shops are seeing an influx of drivers who dinged up their cars during the recent stretch of hazardous winter weather.

One Lexington car shop has been so busy, workers already have parts pre-painted and ready to put on damaged vehicles.

"Right after bad weather, anywhere from a week to two weeks out, they could come trickling in," says Fortune Collision Center Body Shop manager Josh Wilson, "Sometimes a bad, bad winter can last you up to spring."

The shop manager says the repairs workers make are common ones following winter weather events.

"Front-end hits, bumpers, rear bumpers. One vehicle runs into or slides into the back of another vehicle," says Wilson, "A stop light, stop sign. A lot of the time when the roadways are wet, stop lights or stop signs are some of the slickest areas."

While Wilson is experiencing increased business, he advises drivers to maintain extra distance with the car in front of them so they don't have to make a visit to his shop.
