Callum Blue and Nadine Velazquez will star opposite Makenzie Moss and Erik LaRay Harvey in Siegal Entertainment’s The Charnel House, a film that reunites Miss Meadows producers Sandra Siegal and Mark B Johnson. Craig Moss is directing Emanuel Isler and Chad Israel’s script, which follows an accomplished British architect (Blue) who finally achieves his dream of converting the long-abandoned Fairmont Meat Company slaughterhouse into ultramodern lofts. His family and tenants will be exposed to a decades-long mystery that cannot be covered up by the building’s high-tech makeover. Danielle Lauder, Andy Favreau and Kate Linder co-star and shooting is underway in Cleveland.
Executive producer Daniel Diamond is handling international distribution through his Diamond Pictures. Capital Fund’s Warren Ostergard, Blair Hahn and Michael Brickman also are executive producers along with Jim Jacobsen.
Blue, who stars in TNT’s upcoming series Proof, is repped by Gersh and Sanders Armstrong Caserta. Velazquez (Ride Along 2) is repped by Gersh and More Medavoy Management. Moss is repped by Abrams Artists Agency, Makenzie Moss by CESD and Harvey by Hardin-Curtis Associates.
Warner Bros. said today it is expanding its release of the New Line Cinema documentary Batkid Begins to Chicago, Toronto, Washington DC, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, Denver, Dallas and Minneapolis beginning July 10. That’s up from the three markets — NY, LA and San Francisco — where the pic opened Friday, grossing $19K in four theaters. The docu, which premiered at Slamdance, chronicles November 2013’s worldwide response to a cancer-stricken child who wished to be Batman for a day; his tour drew more than 400K tweets in 117 countries, reaching more than 1.84 billion social media users. Miles Scott will be 7 years old next month and is in remission. Julia Roberts in January closed a deal to adapt the documentary into a feature, which she will also star in.
Screen Media Films has set an August 14 release date for Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini’s Ten Thousand Saints, the period drama that it acquired after it premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld and Emile Hirsch star in the pic, set in New York City, about three teenagers in late 1980s New York City who break away from their messed up parents (Ethan Hawke and Emily Mortimer) to form their own surrogate family. It’s based on the novel by Eleanor Henderson.
