Orella M. Brickheimer

Orella M. Brickheimer 91-year-old resident of Baxter, MN passed away July 18, 2018 at her residence. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 27 at 11 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, also at the church. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery in Kandiyohi, MN.

Orella Braland was born on December 21, 1926 in Kandiyohi, MN to Martin and RoseAnn Braland. She attended District #66 Country School and graduated from New London High School in Spicer, MN with the class of 1941. She continued her education in Minneapolis, MN becoming a teletype operator. On June 26, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harry Brickheimer. Orella enjoyed reading, quilting & sewing, sending flowers to people, and helping & serving others. She was very involved with her church by going on mission trips, singing in the choir, and lectoring at Sunday morning services. She also donated generous amounts of bibles, song books, Sunday school supplies, and her time serving lunches. She will be remembered as being a loving & generous mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Orella was a prayer warrior for everyone and always giving thanks to Jesus by singing his praises.

She survived by her daughters, Rose Marie (David) Klein of Wyoming, MN, Gladys (Dean) Negen of Blomkest, MN, Harriet (James) Jones of Broken Arrow, OK, Ruth (John T.) Unger of Baxter, MN; grandchildren, Jodene Nestande, Sara Rozema, Ted Jones, Devin Hollingsworth, Amanda Unger, John J. Unger; great-grandchildren, Mira Nestande, Archer Nestande, Deakon Rozema, and Dylan Rozema.

Orella is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; two sisters; grandchildren, Carla Sue, Anthony Jacob, June Lynn, and Daisy Jewel.

Arrangements are with the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN.
