Kyle Busch blasts Goodyear following race-ending Daytona 500 crash

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Out of nowhere, Kyle Busch’s No. 18 Toyota lost air in its rear tire and started to slide sideways on the track during the Daytona 500, colliding with several other cars in the process.

Among those hit was Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 Chevrolet, damaging the right front side of the car and ultimately forcing him to exit the race.

With NASCAR’s new rules this season, if damage to a car cannot be repaired within a five-minute time limit – after which the drive must jump back on the track and return to minimum speed – that car is out of the race.

Junior was the leader at the time of the crash, and after pitting, he returned to the track in 34th place before having to take his car back to pit road and calling it quits.

And needless to say, as Busch’s car scattered enough debris across the track for a red flag to temporarily halt the race, the No. 18 car is also done for the day. And Busch had some thoughts on that, bashing Goodyear, the official tire of NASCAR.

“Obviously, Goodyear tires aren’t very good at holding air,” Busch told FOX after the crash.

Take a look at some different views of the wreck and damage that took Busch out of the running.
