Phoenix police have arrested a 37-year-old man suspected of bringing an underage girl to Arizona from Utah for sex.

According to court documents, Raymond Larry Burk, of Phoenix, is charged with five counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of aggravated assault and one count of kidnapping.

Documents state that Burk contacted a 17-year-old girl via social media on June 1, after she posted that she wanted to get out of her house. Burk told the teen he would pick her up if she agreed to have sex with him.

The girl, who initially told Burk she was 18, agreed, and Burk brought her to Phoenix, where police say he had unprotected sex with her on a daily basis. The teen told police Burk got angry with her on multiple occasions and choked her and cut her upper right arm twice, according to documents.

Court documents state that Burk also forced the teen into prostitution when he allowed one of his friends to have sex with her in exchange for marijuana.

The alleged abuse occurred between June 2 and June 13 before the victim reached out to a friend on social media stating she was scared and wanted to leave Burk's home, documents say.

According to records, the friend contacted Scottsdale and Phoenix police, but when Phoenix police showed up at the residence, the teen was too scared to answer the door.

The teen told police that Burk choked her and called her his "pet" when she told him she did not feel safe with him, records state.

Police eventually cornered the pair at Scottsdale Fashion Square, according to records. Burk admitted to having sexual contact with the girl and said that he also took nude photos of her, records state.

The records didn't state whether the teen was returned home to Utah, and police did not immediately respond to an inquiry Wednesday morning.

Burk has a cash bond set at $150,000 and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday.
