Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are officially married.

After five years of dating, Timberlake and Biel became husband and wife in Italy on Friday, Oct. 19.

"It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends," the couple told PEOPLE in a statement.

Timberlake, 31, and Biel, 30, were tight-lipped about the details of the wedding not only to the press but to their guests as well.

The couple provided private security detail and asked guests to sign nondisclosure agreements to prevent the possibility of the details being leaked before they were ready to share the news with the world.

The couple tied the knot in front of family and close friends at the Borgo Egnazia resort in the southern Italian city of Fasano, according to E! News.

An insider told the New York Post that Timberlake and Biel chose Italy to wed because it "means a lot to both of them."

E! News reported there were celebrity guests in attendance: Jimmy Fallon and his wife Nancy Juvonen, Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg, Timberlake's music producer Timbaland, former 'N Sync bandmember Chris Kirkpatrick, Biel's "7th Heaven" co-star Beverley Mitchell, and music manager Johnny Wright and his wife Erika.

The festivities reportedly started on Tuesday, when the couple threw a firework show for their guests. On Wednesday night, the guests joined the couple for dinner and drinks in Trappeto.

Timberlake proposed to Biel last December in Big Sky Montana with a custom-designed ring. The pair celebrated their engagement at a star-studded party in May. When Timberlake went to Las Vegas and Cabo San Lucas with a group of friends last month, rumors began to circulate tha the wedding date was near.

The "Social Network" actor and "Total Recall" star have been together since 2007.

Timberlake has dated Britney Spears, Alyssa Milano and Cameron Diaz, while Biel was romantically linked to Chris Evans and Derek Jeter.
