Sherwin-Williams names Cavern Clay 2019 ‘it’ colorIf you love all things 1970s, take heart: Sherwin-Williams named its 2019 Color of the Year this week and it is a groovy shade of orange called Cavern Clay. Calling it a hue of “unbridled adventure,” Sherwin-Williams acknowledges that the “it” hue is a nod to the ’70s. “2019 will be a renaissance of the 1970s — with a twist. In the coming year, we will embrace our pioneering spirits and artisan ingenuity,” said Sue Wadden, director of Sherwin-Williams’ color marketing, in a press release. Cavern Clay embodies “renewal, simplicity and free-spirited, bohemian flair.”
