Donald J. Iverson, 84 of Fargo, formerly of Hampden, ND passed away on Wednesday evening, April 17, 2019 at the Bethany on University Care Center with family at his side.

Funeral Services for Don will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND with Reverend Jim Paulson, Pastor St. Olaf Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Storlie Cemetery, rural Hampden, ND. Visitation will begin on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service. Donald James Ellsworth Iverson was born to Esther (Gunderson) and Thorval Iverson on June 14, 1934. The first half of his life he lived near Hampden, North Dakota. He married Rubie Hanson and had five children, Iver (DeEtta), Christie (Greg Wentz), Holly, Esther (Doug) Moratzka, Dawn (Curtis Bjerke). He was a farmer and sold Steiger and Wil-rich machinery as well as trying his hand with selling pizzas.

He then met his soulmate Marion Johnson and married her. He lived the second half of his life in Mandan and Fargo. He was an implement dealer, land speculator, and sold seeds as well as hail insurance. He loved basketball especially class B basketball. He collected coins and paintings. He enjoyed fishing. He loved political argument. He is survived by his wife, Marion, first wife, and all five children as well as several grandchildren. His parents, brother Soren and son in law Greg preceded him in death.
