Poughkeepsie Schools Agree To Buyout For Former Superintendent

An interim superintendent is now in place.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Poughkeepsie school board will pay more than $433,000 to former Superintendent Nicole Williams in exchange for her resignation. The agreement comes after multiple lawsuits and subsequent appeals.

Assistant Superintendent Kathleen Farrell will serve as interim superintendent at a salary of $175,000, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

In the course of the buyout, Williams will receive more than two year’s salary as well as healthcare coverage for a year, which will end if she finds a new job before then.
