UPDATE: Linn-Mar hires new superintendent

The Linn-Mar Board of Education Tuesday night hired Shannon Bisgard as superintendent. He's the current associate superintendent.

According to a news release, Bisgard has been with the district for 13 years. He has served as building principal at both Bowman Woods and Linn Grove elementary schools.

Bisgard left the district in 2013 to be regional administrator at Grant Wood Area Education Agency, returning in 2015 to be Linn-Mar's associate superintendent.

The Linn-Mar Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday. One of the items on the agenda is hiring their new superintendent.

According to the agenda released Tuesday afternoon, the board will vote to issue a three-year contract to Shannon Bisgard, the current associate superintendent at Linn-Mar.

The contract Bisgard will be offered begins on July 1, 2018 and comes with a first-year salary of $210,000.

Bisgard became principal at Bowman Woods Elementary in 2003 and then principal of Linn Grove Elementary in 2007. He then worked as a Regional Administrator for Grant Wood AEA from 2013 to 2015 before becoming the Linn-Mar Associate Superintendent.

Bisgard replaces Dr. Quintin Shepherd who will become the superintendent in Victoria, Texas.
