Digital Detox for Internet Addiction

The counselling Cell of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, organised a mental health drive on digital addiction, with the aim of spreading awareness about the harmful effects of over use of Digital Devices and gadgets in daily lives. The Drive was inaugurated by The Principal Mukti Gill during the morning assembly with releasing an informative brochure "Internet Addiction and Tips for Digital Detox, which elaborated on the symptoms of internet Addiction and various signs pointing towards the need for Digital Detox. Internet Addiction has been included in the list of Mental Disorders recently due to invasion of internet over usage by the people. The student volunteer's of Counselling Cell took out a rally where they addressed various classes of students informing them about the facts about Nomophobia and Internet Addiction.

GHG Khalsa College Students Shine

The students of B.Sc. Biotechnology (Hons) brought laurels to the college by performing wonderfully well in Panjab University Final Examination held in December 2019. Soumya Chauhan clinched the third position in the university by scoring 82% marks and secured the first position in the college.

KCW students shine in result

Biotechnology students of Khalsa College for Women have once again proved their mettle in Panjab University BSc (Hons) Biotechnology semester I examinations held in December 2019. Gurinder Kaur Grewal stood Ist in University by securing 436 marks out of 500. Mehak Kochar bagged 4th position in university by securing 405/500. Jaspreet kaur stood 6th in university by obtaining 402/500. Toppers attributed the glory of their success to their hardwork, tireless efforts of the Department, motivational support of the teachers.

Parent-teacher association

A meeting was organised by the Parent -Teacher Association of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, today. Its main objective was to provide an opportunity to the parents to learn about the academic, behavioural and social well -being of their ward and to clarify any related questions or concerns about their performance. About 20 parents attended the meeting and provided many valuable suggestions on issues such as discipline and quality time to be spent with their children.

Old Students Day Celebrated at GCG

The Principal and the president of Old Student Association, Dr Manju Sahni accorded a warm welcome to the guests. Prominent old students and retired teachers were honoured by the college for their achievements in respective fields and tremendous contribution to society. Abinash Gujral, former principal, Govt. College, Sidhsar; Gurcharan Singh, former professor, Dept of Fine Arts; old student Dr Mukti Gill, Principal, KCW, Ludhiana: and Jasmeen Khurana, blogger and poetess, were honoured on the occasion.

Extension Lecture organised

The Punjabi Department of Ramgarhia Girls College organised an Extension Lecture to celebrate 'Antarrashtria Matar Bhasha Divas' and to discuss the importance of book reading. Dr. Surjit Singh, Head, PG Department of Punjabi, Punjabi University Patiala was the main resource person. Talking about 'Matarbhasha Day' Dr. Surjit Singh asserted that Punjabi Language is one simple, clear and effective language. Its richness reflects the rich heritage of Punjab. He further said that a nation can achieve glory under the patronage of her language but irony in modern times is that our mother-tongue is being ignored by the modern generation in the name of globalisation.

Annual Athletics Meet

Mata Ganga Khalsa College, Kottan, organised its 20th Annual Athletics Meet. The celebration began with the hoisting of the college flag followed by the recitation of College Shabad 'Deh Shiva Var Mohe'. The spectators remained spell bound as the march past began. Sanjeev Pahwa , CMD of Ralson India Limited, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. The Sacred Flame was lit by the athletes, which represented the endeavour for perfection and symbolised the light of spirit, knowledge and life. After that the Chief guest declared the meet open .The salute of the march past was taken by the Chief guest. A large number of students participated with great zest and zeal and won prizes in different events of field and track. Sack race and long jump were among the main events organised during the show.
