CAPE TOWN, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) - The following are news highlights in South Africa's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday slammed greed within the public service, saying it had contributed to the government's failure to effect transformation.

Ramaphosa was delivering the African National Congress' annual Jan. 8 statement at the party's 107th anniversary at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, where he detailed the party's plan for the year ahead. (Weekend Argus)

-- Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane on Saturday reacted to the ANC's election manifesto launch in Durban, saying President Ramaphosa's speech was full of "more empty promises" made by previous ANC leaders.

In his keynote address at a packed Moses Mabhida stadium, Ramaphosa undertook that the ANC will focus on economic growth, job creation and a skills revolution for the youth. (Eyewitness News)
