Community residents were buzzing with excitement as crowds gathered outside the new Dash In convenience store at 7845 Quarterfield Road in Severn to attend the grand opening last month.

Headlining the evening’s grand opening festivities was an appearance by former Baltimore Raven offensive tackle, and Hall-of-Famer, Jonathan Ogden, to meet and greet Ravens fans. The opportunity to win a year’s worth of free gas also attracted many residents.

Grand opening attendees were treated to free samplings from the new Craveable Menu as well as menu items like buffalo chicken quesadilla, chicken parmesan sliders and Old Bay wings. Free coffee and fountain drinks were offered to consumers throughout the evening. Customers also left with Dash In Coupon Books.

“Our all-new Severn store features an open kitchen located in the heart of the store,” said Dash In spokeswoman Darleen Nascimento. “This design offers our customers an up-close look at their food being made from scratch, highlighting our commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients.”

The new establishment’s décor features wood floors, subway tiles, soft lighting and a coffee bar.

“The Severn, location features Dash In’s chef-driven, Craveable Menu, with artisan made-to-order and grab-and-go sandwiches, wraps, and salads that are made in house daily,” said marketing expert, Madelyn Ransom, who was on hand to oversee the opening celebration. The menu also includes all-day breakfast with freshly cracked eggs.”

The open concept kitchen at the center of the store allows customers to see their food being prepared from fresh ingredients. Breakfast is also prepared fresh, on-site, as are all the pre-packaged Dash in Grab-and-Go food items.

The June 7 grand opening was attended with about 150 residents coming out to see Ogden and take a chance on winning some free gas.

Julie Hernandez of Glen Burnie was the lucky recipient of free gas for an entire year. She will receive $2,080 in Dash In gas certificates with each worth $40. Hernandez lives a half mile from the new Dash In.
