Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island will host a free Community Health Fair on Thursday, January 25. The event, which is open to the public and free of charge, will be held at Solaris Senior Living at 535 Crockett Boulevard on Merritt Island, directly west of the Merritt Island Post Office.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island will host a free Community Health Fair on Thursday, January 25.

The event, which is open to the public and free of charge, will be held at Solaris Senior Living at 535 Crockett Boulevard on Merritt Island, directly west of the Merritt Island Post Office.

Beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 12 noon, the fair will feature guest speakers, interactive exhibits, refreshments, health screenings and raffle prizes.

• Karina Simonson, ARNP with Sunshine Healthcare Solutions, will give a presentation entitled “Managing Cholesterol and Blood Pressure” at 9:15 a.m.

• Pharmacist Jessica Beal of Hobbs Pharmacy will give a timely presentation on “Vitamins A to Z and Seasonal Affective Disorder” at 10:15 a.m.

• Dr. Romain Onteniente of Merritt Island Foot and Ankle will deliver a seminar on “Healthy Feet: Diabetic Foot Care & Hygiene” at 11:15.

All lectures will be followed by a Q&A session.

Exhibitors include Florida Eye Associates, Health First, NSI, Parrish Medical Center, VITAS and Wuesthoff Health Care, and attendees can participate in free blood sugar screenings, lung cancer screenings, and hearing consultations.

Raffle prizes include gift baskets from Nature’s Market Health Foods and Wal-Mart gift cards.
