Tourists warned to stay away after 'car driven into bus stops' in Marseille
We’re getting more news on the incident in Marseille. This is what the Mirror is reporting:
At least one person was killed and others seriously injured today after a car was deliberately driven into two bus stops in the French city of Marseille.
A security operation was launched in the city’s Old Port soon afterwards, and police arrested the driver of the vehicle involved.
Officers are currently warning people to stay away from the area, which is always full of tourists.
“The arrested man has been identified and is known to the police,” said a source close to the case.
The 35-year-old arrested man first drove his car into a packed bus shelter in the Croix-Rouge area of Marseille just after 8am.
He then sped off, as ambulances were called to deal with people who had been injured in the attack.
An hour later, at 9am, the same car was seen driving into a stop in an area of the city known as Valentine. It was there that a pedestrian waiting for a bus was killed.
The man was then arrested in the Old Port, as the area was shut off to traffic, and people told to stay away from the area.
It follows a string of Islamic State-linked terrorist attacks across France, and other parts of Europe including Britain and Spain, involving vehicles being driven at crowds.

Supermarket sausages and ham may be infected with hep E
If you bought sausages and ham recently you may want to read this....
Pork products sold at a leading supermarket may have infected British shoppers with a virus that can cause liver failure and even death, it’s emerged.
Researchers at Public Health England (PHE) probed the shopping habits of those infected with hepatitis E and found the consumption of ham and sausages from one store was a recurring feature.
Imported pork infects between 150,000 and 200,000 British people a year with the virus, the new research claims, and the products mainly come from Holland and Germany.
Hepatitis E, which is officially called HEV G3-2, can cause liver cirrhosis (scarring of the liver which prevents it working properly) and neurological damage.

Firefighters tackle kitchen fire in Droylsden
Firefighters have issued a warning to homeowners to take care while cooking following a kitchen blaze
Crews were called to a fire at a house on Outram Square, in Droylsden, at 12.22pm on Sunday.
Three crews, from Philips Park, Stalybridge and Gorton, discovered the fire was located in the kitchen.
The team used breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, a ventilation fan and other specialist tools to bring the fire under control.
It was discovered the fire was accidental and caused by a build up of grease on the cooker.
Firefighters are urging people to take care when cooking, and to clean fat from ovens, hobs and grills as grease can easily catch fire.
Crews were at the scene for 30 minutes.
