David Edward Lee

INDIANAPOLIS

David Edward Lee, formerly of Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Franklin, IN passed away at IU University Hospital, on November 13, 2017 after a brief illness.

Dave was born in Fort Wayne, IN on June 1, 1954 to Ann (Hull) Lee and Robert Edward Lee. He grew up in Fort Wayne, played football and graduated from South Side High School. Dave was a proud graduate of the School of Business at IU Bloomington, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity, led IU Sing, and became a life-long fan of IU basketball.

Dave was a strong Christian and assisted with video production for a number of Christian churches wherever he lived. His business career revolved around the food industry: Puritan/Atz’s, Graham Farm Cheese, Diehm, Golden 100, Sensory Effects, and other firms in Bloomington, IN, South Bend, IN, Defiance, OH, Saline, MI, Deland, FL, and Columbus, IN. Most recently, Dave has been employed by Walgreens and Lowe’s in Indianapolis and Franklin.

His smile and IU basketball game trips will be missed by daughters Cyndi (Jeremiah) Brown and Crysta (Randis) Silas of Noblesville, and son Dan (Kirsti VandeVord) Lee of Brownsburg, IN. He will be missed by his six surviving sisters and brothers: Patricia Arnlund of Orangevale, CA, Judith (Steve) Young of Indianapolis, Barbara Lee of Indianapolis, Richard (Diane) Lee of Spring Hill, TN, Margaret Lee of Ft. Worth, TX, and Thom Lee of Marshall, TX. He loved his four young grandchildren: Josiah and Micaiah Brown, and Zaylee and Zayden Silas. He is also survived by his former wife, Cathy Gisel Lee, of Chandler, AZ.

His family celebrated Dave’s life with a private remembrance, with arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care. Memorial gifts may be made to Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, Bloomington, First Baptist Church, Defiance, or the IU Foundation.
