Worker Dies In Bethesda Construction Site Accident: Police

The Port Tobacco man was dismantling a tank in Friday's fatal accident in Bethesda, say police.

BETHESDA, MD — Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating an accidental death that occurred Friday afternoon at a construction site in Bethesda. The police identified the worker who died as Bryan Frederick McGinn, 43, of Purcell Road in Port Tobacco.

Officers and fire and rescue personnel responded at 1:28 p.m. Friday to the site at 8751 Rockville Pike, according to the police.

They said McGinn was dismantling a pressurized tank when he was struck by a pipe affixed to the tank. He was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Department was notified and is assisting the investigation, the police said.
