Pamela Anderson is nearing the big 5-0 but she’s in no way worried about aging. “It is what it is,” she tells People Magazine in a new interview, promoting her latest coffee table photography book called “Raw,” a collaboration with good friend and photographer Emma Dunlavy.

Of course, always being in the public eye means that there’s been (and there still is) pressure on Pamela to look a certain way. She admits she tried out Botox but was so unimpressed with the results that she swore it off for good.

Botox isn’t for Pam, but there are other ways as well

Pamela admits that she thought she’d be “the last person” to try Botox, but she did it either way. She was very unhappy with the way she ended up looking, so she eventually realized that it wasn’t for her.

“I felt like my eyes sunk into my head so far that I didn't look like me anymore! I'm not into all that stuff,” Anderson says. “I think a little bit of maintenance is good. There are things we can do to perk ourselves up. Some people go too far. I'm not obsessed.”

For instance, she believes that aging gracefully helps with one’s confidence as the years pile on. She also has good genes and she knows that eating healthy and keeping active can take years off one’s face.

In the end, it all boils down to how much care you take of your body. Pamela’s beauty idols are Jane Fonda and Brigitte Bardot, because, above anything else, they stand for timeless beauty and elegance. Real beauty always shines from within, she says.

A known anti-plastic surgery crusader

Though there was a point when it was clear to fans that Pamela had started “messing” with her face, in the sense that she was getting Botox and fillers on the regular, she was always outspoken on plastic surgery.

This might sound rich from someone who built an entire career on her differently-sized breast implants, but when it comes to her face, she’s had almost no work done, especially if compared to other female (and even some male) fans.

Anderson has always led a very active life, and in recent years, she’s also made sure to limit her exposure to the sun, unlike back in her younger years. She’s also a vegan, saying that a cleaner, cruelty-free diet is helping her keep her energy levels high, her complexion wrinkle-free and her attitude positive.

At the end of the day, you’re only as old as you feel inside.
